    Responsibilities

    Greystone Health is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to service our West Coast facilities (Bradenton, Venice, Port Charlotte, Lehigh Acres).  The primary function of the Transportation Coordinator is to manage transportation services for center residents.  This includes:

     

    • Responsible for planning, organizing and directing activities and functions of the transportation services department to ensure safe and timely transport of residents 
    • Redesign and create new systems and fine tune procedures, bring an analytical orientation to daily operations, implement best practices approach, assure staff are trained and competent. 
    • Collaborate with management and clinical services team to ensure quality of service and safety in resident handling. 
    • Responsible for maintaining collaborative partnerships with each department (i.e. Admissions, Activities, Marketing, Facilities, etc.). 
    • Responsible for Fleet Management of owned or leased vehicles that support safe, efficient and effective transport of drivers and passengers 
    • Standardize vehicle route planning practices and staffing to improve and ensure effectiveness and efficiency of resources and service utilization.  
    • Use feedback data to ensure high satisfaction rates of participants, families and employees
    • Implements safety and accident prevention management program
    • Establishes and oversees vehicle preventative maintenance standards and activities for ensuring vehicle and equipment are in safe and effective conditions, and external vehicle body is in good repair
    • Keep nursing and family up to date with all appointments and transportation 
    • Responsible for training all drivers, preparing weekly driver schedules and maintaining driver paperwork 
    • Conducting regular meetings with drivers to ensure open communications and sharing of concerns

    Qualifications

    • Valid Florida driver’s license in good standing with willingness to travel regularly between facilities
    • Must be computer literate (ability to utilize MS Office programs)
    • 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred 
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in healthcare elderly population. 
    • Operational experience in fleet management, safety-risk management and personnel management. 
    • Previous experience in vehicle route planning  
    • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills  
    • Must be able to relate positively and favorably to resident and families and to work cooperatively with others 
    • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance 
    • Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required.  This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry
